DANCE OF THE HUMMINGBIRD
Qigong, Tea, and Sword Ceremonial Practice
Together we gather this April as students of the Wood element.
Springtime in the Land of Enchantment brings a change of cast as blossoms draw out the pollinators. Of those eager flower-dippers, Hummingbird will be our guide in this spacious five-day immersion.
With buoyant hearts, we emerge from winter’s oneness to honor the duality of life. Our medicine is Hummingbird’s optimism and gentle kindness, helping us to honor the process of individuation, and nudging us to embrace our own humanity.
By powerfully diving deep into the shadows, we dance light-hearted Hummingbird, allowing the cycles of life to move more gracefully through us and giving us an opportunity to remain in harmony with the Tao.
We are those who embrace the sword and cradle the moon as one act. We are the Warrior Priestesses, womxn connected by the common thread of Discipline and Grace, Strength and Serenity, Dignity and Compassion.
As is now tradition, we’ll open and close the day in Tea Ceremony— still, silent, and listening with all our senses to the water pouring, filling the sacred vessel, emptying into the Self.
We take the rest of the day to move. We’ll practice Qigong as medicine— forms specifically chosen for each woman present—a tool to be used on your path as a Warrior Priestess. Through Eagle Claw sword form we will learn to wield and respect the Sword as a spiritual tool, cutting away what no longer serves.
This Immersion is held with impeccable intention, for womxn who wish to receive the medicine of the body in harmonious tandem with the medicine of the Leaf, all under the guidance of the five elements. It is our intention to create an intimate, focused environment to facilitate deep movement— both internal and external.
