CULTIVATING THE WARRIOR PRIESTESS: AUTUMNAL QIGONG + TEA IMMERSION

WE OPEN THE MORNING WITH BOWL TEA, IN SILENCE, IN STILLNESS, LISTENING WITH ALL OUR SENSES TO THE WATER POURING, FILLING THE SACRED VESSEL, EMPTYING INTO THE SELF.

AND THEN WE MOVE. LIKE DEEP SEA DANCERS, LIKE STAR SWIMMERS, WE MOVE. TO MOVE THE SPIRIT THROUGH, WE MOVE— AND ARE IN TURN MOVED BY THE SPIRIT.

AS WARRIOR PRIESTESSES WE CALL ON METAL, ELEMENT OF COURAGE, COMMITMENT, CLARITY, PRECISION, AND DISCERNMENT. WITH METAL WE PIERCE THROUGH THE VEIL. WITH METAL WE STAND IN FORTIFICATION AND AUTHENTICITY, READY TO FACE ALL THAT MAY COME OUR WAY.

IN THIS QIGONG + TEA IMMERSION WE WILL USE THE METAL ELEMENT TO CULTIVATE THE WARRIOR WITHIN. WE’LL PRACTICE QIGONG AS MEDICINE— FORMS SPECIFICALLY CHOSEN FOR EACH OF

YOUR PERSONAL PATHS AS WARRIOR PRIESTESSES. WE WILL ALSO LEARN TO WIELD AND RESPECT THE SWORD— THROUGH EAGLE CLAW FORMS WE’LL CUT THROUGH WHAT NO LONGER SERVES US.

THIS IMMERSION IS HELD WITH IMPECCABLE INTENTION, FOR WOMEN WHO WISH TO RECEIVE THE MEDICINE OF THE BODY IN HARMONIOUS TANDEM WITH THE MEDICINE OF THE LEAF. IT IS OUR INTENTION TO CREATE AN INTIMATE, FOCUSED ENVIRONMENT TO FACILITATE DEEP MOVEMENT- BOTH INNER AND OUTER.

SEATS ARE LIMITED.

Qigong + Tea Immersion

THE CHINESE MARTIAL AND INTERNAL ARTS ARE DEEPLY WOVEN TOGETHER WITH CHA DAO, THE CHINESE TEA CEREMONY.

LET US ACTIVATE OUR QI—THE LIFE FORCE ESSENCE—THROUGH THESE ANCIENT PRACTICES OF PROFOUND PRESENCE AND RECEPTIVITY.

JOIN US AS WE:

MOVE DEEPLY INTO STILLNESS AND SILENCE;

LEARN THE FIVE ELEMENTS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT, AND HOW TO USE QIGONG TO CARE FOR YOUR OWN RELATIONSHIP TO WHAT LIFE PRESENTS TO YOU;

LEARN HOW TO MOVE THE BODY MEDITATIVELY, INSPIRED BY THE QI WITHIN, AND HOW TO USE THE “EXTERNAL” MARTIAL MOVEMENTS OF GONGFU TO TRAIN THE BODY TO MOVE EFFORTLESSLY;

ONE NEED NOT HAVE ANY PRIOR EXPERIENCE TO ATTEND—ALL MOVEMENTS CAN BE DONE AT ONE’S OWN PERSONAL LEVEL OF PRACTICE, WHETHER STANDING OR SITTING.

 IMMERSE IN TEA

CHA DAO "THE WAY OF TEA" IS A PRACTICE THAT COMES FROM ANCIENT CHINESE LINEAGE. IT HAS BEEN USED SINCE ITS DISCOVERY BY THE DAOISTS AND SAGES AS A FORM OF MEDICINE AND A WAY TO CULTIVATE AWAKENED PRESENCE, SUSTAINING LONG STATES OF MEDITATION. TEA IS A PLANT TEACHER, A SPIRIT OF NATURE, MANIFESTED THROUGH THIS LEAF AND AWAKENED BY HOT WATER. USED IN CEREMONY, IT IS A DANCE BETWEEN THE ELEMENTS, A SENSORY EXPLORATION OF PRESENCE, WHERE EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED BY SPACE.

The Practice of Bowl Tea: The Sacred Vessel

The Practice of Bowl Tea: The Sacred Vessel

For thousands of years, before man formalized our relationship to the Leaf, there were just trees rooted deeply, extending out to the sky and Sages drinking out of cracked Earthenware, communing with this medicine. We start with bowl tea to connect us first to nature and the spirit of this practice. We start with bowl Tea to bring our awareness from the head to the heart. We start with bowl Tea so we can learn to listen. We start here because it is simple... Just leaves, hot water, and a bowl. In this workshop we will talk about some of the philosophical and practical aspects of Bowl tea, including what differentiates it from other ceremonies, the importance of ritual, how to hold the bowl, and simple techniques on serving bowl tea.
